Without fear, She laughs.
She has got it figured out.
In the face of the unknown, in the face of uncertainty, she has no fear. How??! The future is terrifying. Who knows what's going to be thrown at us next. In my case, who knows when Satan's going to attack my marriage, my family next —because rest assured, it's only a matter of time. Guaranteed, as long as we're followers of Christ. And the next attack? Will we weather the storm with grace, or utter vulgarity? I'd love to say grace, believe you me...
So how can She laugh? What's her secret? How does she keep from crumpling into a fetal position, stomach in knots, enslaved to the fears and anxieties and worries?
She trusts God.
Sounds easy enough, right? In theory.
"Cast your cares unto Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me." John 14:1
"Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8
—Just to list a few. He gives to us, countless times, the command and encouragement to trust in Him throughout scripture.
So, hear me out: What if we did? Can you even fathom how God could bless your own life, your marriage, your health, your family, your finances, and certainly your future, if you put your trust in Him? What would happen if we got out of our own way and let Him do His thing; let Him deliver us the beautiful life He has planned for us? Stop worrying, stop stressing, stop being fearful —those are damaging, relationship-hurting emotions and they come from the one who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy, and his name is Satan.
Something to Think About, Something to Pray About.
Heavenly Father,
I come before you today, humble in prayer, asking for your help to lean into your loving embrace. Help me to get out of my own way and fully place my trust in you. You know the trials I am coming out of, the trials I am going through, and the trials I will face —I pray for the strength to cast any and all fears, worries, and anxieties onto you and live freely the beautiful life you so carefully and wonderfully have in store for me.
